Commercial work splits into two jobs and our crews do both. On steep-slope buildings — apartment complexes, multi-family, condos and offices — we install architectural shingles, the same systems and the same install standards as a house, at building scale. On flat and low-slope roofs we install TPO, a single-ply membrane with heat-welded seams. TPO is what goes on most warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing and industrial buildings, retail strips, restaurants, schools, medical and office buildings, hotels and self-storage. Its reflective surface keeps a large roof from soaking up heat all summer, and the welded seams hold up around the rooftop units, curbs and drains a commercial roof is full of.
